-
Are there any age restrictions?Operating equipment requires specific age and skill levels (no beginners). However, certain special events organized for BAC members will welcome family, friends, and children of all ages when appropriate. Ultimately, skill is the key factor in determining eligibility for BAC membership.
-
Do I have to attend Meetings? No, but we ask for 8 hours of volunteer time annually to assist with basic maintenance and facility access. This helps keep membership costs low for everyone.
-
Will my cost of membership go up in future? The goal is to maintain a balanced number of members to ensure equal access to resources, which, if successful, should help reduce costs over time. We can adjust asset availability as needed to maintain this balance. However, third-party costs, such as helicopter services and fuel charges, are beyond our control and will be reviewed periodically.

What is Cat Assisted Ski Touring?Cat-assisted ski touring uses a snowcat to travel the long access roads, bringing you closer to the alpine and allowing more time for powder turns instead of skinning up roads, similar to sled skiing. The snowcat also serves as a base camp for overnight or multi-day trips and acts as a rescue resource for members. When possible, it can provide multiple lifts throughout the day, maximizing your vertical and enhancing your experience.
